Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. Kushina Uzumaki | Naruto | Konoha and Uzushio (shh it's complicated)

[Now that I've actually read a lot of the characters' histories...

While it's more likely Kushina's going to be found in Uzushio, having spent the month keeping the village running and overseeing the rebuilding efforts, she's getting restless and gunning for a short trip home starting on the last day of February.

Maybe you're visiting Uzushio on business or just visiting. Or maybe something forward-dated to her arrival on the night of the 28th in Konoha. (A few last minute things popped up, so she'll be kinda tired when she finally arrives.) For an alternative, it never hurts to send messages back and forth.]

Excuse me? I'm looking for Kushina Uzumaki.

[Those two sentences could be heard a lot that day as a certain small Kiri-nin bustled all about Uzushio. Considering her homeland, Ava was pretty used to hectic scenes. In Kiri's case, it was more because everyone was apparently aiming to kill one another. In Uzushio's case, it was simply rebuilding efforts. The entire town seemed extremely busy.]

[This made looking for one specific person a bit difficult, especially since Kushina was much loved and as a stranger from Kiri, well...]

[Still, like any proper ninja, she was determined to find the person she was to deliver a package to, so with any hint, she set off again and began the line of inquiries once more with her best "Look at me, would I bludgeon you to death with war fans? I definitely wouldn't!" disarming smile.]

[Those were indeed words Kushina heard day in and day out. In a village where nearly half of its small population had the bright red Uzumaki hair, she was a little harder for those who didn't know her face to identify. As the temporary leader of the village until a proper one could be installed, she was often sought by delegates or couriers from other villages. Those of the clan could identify her immediately, but unidentified outsiders were treated with some caution when directed to Kushina.

But when she overheard the girl asking for her, she was just returning from a quick lunch break not too far from the administrative building. The shinobi Ava had asked seemed hesitant to give a straight answer until he noticed Kushina approaching them.]

Who's asking for her?

[At the new voice, Ava turned around. Her gaze skimmed over the older woman quickly out of habit before she gave a slight bow. Not too much, but just enough to show some respect.]

My name is Ava Ire, a chunin from Kiri. Um, I have a package I'm supposed to deliver to her.

[Kushina looks her over, then nods.]

Alright, follow me. She's just coming back from lunch.

[She holds up a hand when the shinobi starts to address her as "Uzumaki-san", likely in protest, and tells him it's fine. And off she goes toward the administration building, offering an explanation on the way.]

Some of the older shinobi that returned are still a bit wary about outsiders. Even those on official business. Not much they can do about that, and I can't really blame them.

{Well, the last thing he wants is for his mother to come home to a sink full of neglected dishes. That is how Naruto spends his day. Tucking away all signs of teenage irresponsibility into dusty corner of his room, shoving armfuls of clothes into the wash, furiously scrubbing dishes and cramming empty ramen cartons into the bin. His mother, putting it plainly, is not the most pleasant of tired people.}

{It takes a while, but he is soon satisfied with the level of cleanliness the house maintains; floors gleaming, and no sign of the little pillow nest where he had spent a bulk of his free evenings in front of the TV watching dull repeats of children's cartoons.}

[What a good son she has. ;u; Indeed, she's fairly exhausted when she gets home and as soon as she's in the door and her shoes are off, she has to stop and stare. She had sent a message saying she wanted his room clean, but everything she could see was sparkling. "I'm home" died on her lips as her mouth fell open. Instead, it takes a few seconds for her to find her voice again.]

Wow...

{Good son? Amazing son, and he holds high hopes that she does not forget it when he does something wrong. Consider it small reminders as to why it is never a good idea to throttle her son in a fit of rage. When she returns he scrambles to his feet, duck-patterned blanket still wrapped around his upper body and shuffles his way toward the door where kaa-san seems to have frozen. Is the heat smothering her? Naruto clears his throat, lips creasing into that ever-mischievous grin that seems to be a constant on his visage.}

O kaeri nasai, Miira. Haah? Why'd ya look so confused?

[Best son. She'll definitely remember this. For a while, anyway. When Naruto finally presents himself in front of her, she grins and throws her arms around him.]

Did you do all this, Naruto?

Karin | Naruto | Uzushio

Normally when her aunt returned to Konoha after her month long stay in Uzushio, Karin stayed behind to help keep things running smoothly. Mostly, there was only so much some of the older family members were willing to let a sixteen year old actually do, didn't matter that she was basically a mini Kushina or her niece.

This time however, she was visiting Konoha and taking the time to visit all the shops and spend her allowance on as many pretty clothes and stuff as she could afford without going entirely bust. She was still going to need grocery money when she went home after all.

Which is how she came to be seated at a little stall eating shrimp okonomiyaki, a pile of bags at her feet, and chatting with the owner.

And who should come along after dropping off her bag and freshening up, but auntie herself. How better to spend your time soon after arrival than harassing teasing your niece? That's a lot of bags you got there, girl. Don't mind Kushina as she leans against the side of the entrance.

"You've been busy, I see."

The piece of okonomiyaki that was halfway to her mouth pauses in midair at her aunts voice. She isn't surprised per se, she'd noticed her chakra before she spoke, a grin forming as she popped the piece of food in her mouth and chewed and swallowed before spinning around in her seat.

Shrugging nonchalantly, "It was shop or watch Naruto make out with his cup ramen again." She makes a face and shudders slightly just thinking about it. Ew cousin making out with ramen not how she wanted to spend her afternoon.

Her word choice earns a laugh. A lovely-- okay no, a full-on ugly, cackling laugh.

"He won't be eating much of it now that I'm back in town. And he better not eat too much either, I was gonna make fresh ramen for dinner. Same goes for you, don't eat too much this afternoon. So what did you get anyway?"

Aaaaaaand time to crouch down and attempt to peek in one of the bags.

It's the laugh that sets Karin on edge. Prepared to slap hands away at a moments notice because that laugh only proceeds awful things.

"I won't. I'm responsible with my money." She pouts her lower lip at her aunt leaning forward to close up the bags as fast as possible so their contents are immediately visible.

"Not much, a couple shirts. A new pair of boots. The basics." And a couple unmentionables she'd rather her aunt didn't pull out in a public location, modestly cut or not.

Ah! He'd heard about this girl! Admittedly he hadn't ever gotten to actually speak with her in any kind of depth, but he'd had her described to him, and he really had to wonder how long it would be before Kushina gave in and admitted she had an apprentice already.

He settled himself at the counter by her. "Hello."

She blinks at her new companion. "Hello?" If she had to guess this would be the Hokage, since she'd been given more than a few lessons on the important people of Uzushio's more solid alliances thus far. She knew she had to respect him but he was dropping in on her lunch. "Hokage-sama?" She squinted behind her glasses at him then turned her attention back to her lunch.

"You should eat, he makes really good okonomiyaki."

"If you have to be formal just go with Obito-sama mm? So you're the niece I keep hearing about huh?" He waved to the man, nodding to her plate and getting a beaming smile in turn before the cook went to get him one together.

"Pleased to finally get to meet you."

Sasha Torres | Bunheads | Kumo

*While not being at war was, you know, great... the escorting of diplomatic missions had to stop. One of the bonuses of being relatively unassuming and one of the few shinobi without a blade of her own. Meaning she was at a unique advantage in rooms where most of her comrades would be disarmed before entry. Which meant she had to carry a sword so that any 'allies' that decide to disarm her can feel good.*

*She drew the short straw and walked into the village first. Make sure there weren't any traps waiting for them. And if there were, she could handle it unarmed.*

[No traps! Probably. Although a girl with the bright red irises is definitely there, sitting on a nearby wall with her fingers clutching the edges. She's watching the newcomer carefully. The headband is tied around her neck, identifying her as one of Kiri's ninja. Considering it's a Kiri village (at the edge of its territory and thus a little more open than most), that probably isn't much of a surprise.]

You're the escort group, right?

*Sasha, unlike most Kumo-nin, doesn't reach for her sword when she's confronted with an enemy nin of dubious intent. She instead pops open a parasol and rests it gingerly on her shoulder. Her headband is around her waist, like a loose fitting belt.*

I'm making sure nobody is waiting to attack the mission when we came in, the rest of the escort group is waiting for my signal.

Sasha Torres.

*Her eyes are still moving around the open area, there didn't seem to be trouble, but she wanted some time to make sure this girl wasn't a threat to her first. Sasha has a few throwing knives under her headband, but relatively unarmed for a nin of Lightning.*

[No sword doesn't mean anything. She could know a jutsu, or be a part of a bloodline. Kiri Rule 1: You can never be too paranoid. Even if they aren't exactly enemies as of the moment.]

[She hops down, letting Sasha look around all she likes.]

Ava Ire. My team and I were told that you were coming. We're just here to make sure everything checks out.

Azkadellia | Tin Man | Yuki

Azkadellia sat in her office waiting for the latest trade and diplomatic envoys to arrive. The schedule was staggered, so hopefully she'd only have to deal with one village's meddling at a time. Then again, it was a long trip for some, and estimates could be wrong.

She agreed with her body's original owner, her prisoner and occasional co-conspirator, that they needed to open up trade if they were to be sustainable. Snow had never been very good at producing its own food sources, for all the obvious climate-related reasons. That didn't mean she liked it. Azkadellia's long black coat was chosen to conceal the curse seal between her shoulder blades, as well as a couple of her summons tattoos. Xora's tattoo was visible in the center of her chest; she would never willingly give up the ability to summon one of her monkeys at a moment's notice, and the second it took to open the jacket could be a crucial one.

Azkadellia would not tolerate interference, and she did not want anyone to know that the person behind the desk was not, in fact, the daimyo's daughter.

She summoned up a friendly smile when her guards led in the new arrival(s), rising gracefully to her feet. "Welcome to Yukigakure," Azkadellia said, with every bit of sincerity she could muster. It was a fairly believable attempt, so she hoped it was taken at face value.

Instead of the Envoy, there was a slight girl. Completely unassuming except for a certain fire in her expression. She certainly didn't have the raw muscle one would expect of the Kumo-nin. Sh had her headband on her waist, the band ridiculously loose on her complete lack of waistline. Her eyes are sharp on the room for danger, so its readily apparent she's a trained nin, even if she doesn't look like much.

One of the Yuki-nin carried a sword and parasol, probably the girl's, as she looked around the office. Eyes staying somewhere around Azkadellia's chest a moment longer than needed, "I guess we are welcome. Go bring the rest of my party."

The Yuki-nin's eyes drift to Azkadellia before leaving, making sure it was accepted to take orders from this... tiny... thing.

Azkadellia casts an amused glance at the parasol. Probably a weapon. What sort of ninja carries an umbrella on missions if it isn't one? Senbon, maybe, but she isn't from Ame. It could be something else. She notices the eyes lingering on her tattoo. Her new guest is paying attention to potential threats, but not bothering to be subtle about it in the least. Cautious and cocky and irreverent. Not very diplomatic.

The insolence in Sasha's lack of greeting and in giving orders to Azkadellia's subordinates wouldn't be tolerated from anyone in her service. Seeing as Azkadellia is disinclined to give anyone reason to look too hard at her government, however, she simply twists her lips wryly and nods at her own shinobi. "Unless she is the negotiator of her group," which Azkadellia highly doubts. This girl doesn't seem the sort to watch her tongue. "I will need the rest of them."

"Your name?"

Or it could be the fact that Sasha wonders how a ninja moves with those. She's never had to worry about that, which is a good news bad news thing. But no, she was about as diplomatic as setting the building on fire, then asking about terms. Sasha waits for the minion to leave before she replies. Keeping herself looking bigger than her rank gives her right to be.

She's unarmed, tiny, what sort of threat can she be, right?

"Sasha Torres, rank ninja on the escort. I get to do all the fun jobs, like make sure this isn't an elaborate trap." Subtle, isn't she? But anyone in the reversed position would do the same, so it's revealing useless information.
