Test Drive Post!
Sunshineverse | ||||||||
Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

Sinbad | Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic | Ex-Suna, non affiliated at the moment. He's a free bird
Plus, he reeked of alcohol.
[[ooc: Didn't stick him in any particular village for now, so come say hi~?]]
well hello ex-suna
Not like she hasn't totally ripped someone off in the middle of crowded street before. It's something she's gotten pretty good at and she's equally good at blending in so once she's close enough she reaches out to nick the closest scroll to her, maybe she'll roll it out and tack it up for all to read once she knows what is inside exactly.
Tsunade Senju/ Naruto/ Leaf Affiliation
Of course, the village was still her home, despite her tendency to wander. A manicured hand reached for the now tepid tea. She’d drink and see if it was worth a visit. It had been awhile since the party, and maybe this time she’d stay awhile before leaving again.
shishouuuuuuuuuuuu ?
If asked, Sasuke would have labelled his sometimes-master's absence from the village something considerably less mild than a tendency to wander. It was probably for the best that Sasuke wasn't asked; in any case, he was hardly in the mood for company. Two weeks in the company of squalling rich brats whose parents had the kind of money needed for a ninja escort could sap the will to live out of even the strongest shinobi, he was sure of it.
It didn't mean that he didn't do a double-take when he spotted what looked like a familiar head of blonde hair at one of the teahouses just outside the village gates. Could it be -- ?
"Shishou?" He came to a stop by her table, surprise stuck in his expression.
.
Her hand lifted to wave to the shop owner, finger held aloft for another cup. “Sit, drink your tea, and tell me the latest gossip. I’m still debating if it’s worth my time to go in.”

SO he came up and settled himself beside her without asking, giving her an amused smile. "Or were you worried Jiraiya was around? He's not, by the way."

Tsunade had been wondering if the Toad Sage was in residence, and if she needed to leave the way she’d came if so. Relief had her shoulder’s dropping, even if she wouldn’t speak why.
“Is there a reason you came out here to greet an old woman, or are you just being social-able?”

Clover | 999/Zero Escape | Ame (formerly Joumae)
She was out in the surrounding forest, heading for the border with the Land of Birds. She didn’t actually intend to cross or anything. Just stare for a while in the direction of her birthplace; maybe try to send a message to Light so he knew she was alright. It’d been a very long time since she’d done so and he was probably worried about her, even if he was likely upset with her for leaving. But then he’d left too, he just didn’t go the distance away she had.
She stopped, this was close enough. Closer even than she needed to be. Settling onto a semi-dry log she closed her eyes to pass the message along. It only took a second and blue eyes opened again with a sigh. Hopefully, he’d respond this time so she would know he got it.
Re: Clover | 999/Zero Escape | Ame (formerly Joumae)
Dropping down, he quietly approached her, waiting to see if she noticed him. As a fellow transplant shinobi, he could understand the lure of those that were left behind.

She didn't say anything about the hovering presence. She wasn't entirely sure it was there or just her imagining Light nearby as she did so often. But she did turn her head back to check, let her eyes tell her if her senses were right. "Sneaking up on people is rude you know."

Hiccup | How To Train Your Dragon | Iwa
“I think we have some serious communication issues here,” Hiccup continued, waving his hands as he spoke. True, he could have been moving faster, but he was giving Toothless a break. Toothless was enjoying walking along and intimidating small woodland creatures and any other travelers they happened to pass while Hiccup talked out his paternal communication issues.
“You’re lucky you don’t have parents--I mean, I guess you don’t. Do you?” Hiccup turned to look at Toothless, who looked back and made a shining gurgle.
“Well, gee, sorry, I didn’t know. At least you don’t get stuck with courier duty because no one wants you around…” Hiccup trailed off as Toothless gave him a seemingly pointed look. “I might have caught Gober’s forge on fire, but it was an accident and I helped put it out. I even offered to help him build a new one, and he said no! You were the one who destroyed the roof of the great hall and tried to eat the Genin.” Toothless didn’t even look ashamed.
“If you’re bored, you could just go home, you know. Not terrorize the next generation of ninja,” Hiccup said, and was immediately head butted by Toothless, who laughed as Hiccup fell on the ground, face first.
This was the reason his clan was embarrassed to be seen with him. He couldn’t control his summons. He was face down in the dirt on a main roadway with a giant lizard laughing at him.
Maybe he'd just lie here, in the middle of the road, and consider his life choices and direction.
It was never too late to become a merchant, right?

The flat-faced fall was the last straw, ultimately, and Sasuke only gave a moment's consideration before he put on a burst of speed and drew level with the Iwa-nin, clearing his throat to announce his presence in the forest canopy.

Toothless reacted faster than Hiccup, of course. At the sound, the summons whirled around, pupils instantly narrowed and mouth agape. Hiccup recognized that stance and the noise all too well.
"Toothless, no!" Hiccup managed to scramble off the ground and through himself over Toothless upper jaw, closing the lizards mouth. "What did we talk about this morning? First rule of diplomacy is think before you kill!" Of course, Toothless didn't respond to just a verbal call down. Stoick would have had his summon cowering in submission with the first bellow, but not Hiccup.
Yet another reason no one at home really wanted him around. He couldn't pull of a proper bellow.
Toothless shook his head back and forth, growling angrily at the interruption. "Sorry about that! Could you--uh--come down? before he tries to fry you again?"

Eying the black creature with cautious eyes, he moved over to see about helping the guy up. "You alright there?"

"Oh, yeah, just fine." Hiccup muttered as he pulled his face out of the dirt. Toothless regarded the newcomer with interest, but not malice. There had been some very long discussions about not terrorizing people on the road with them. Instead he just stared intently and licked his lips.
"Just...peachy." Hiccup grunted as he sat up. Toothless came up behind him and nudged his head with apparent affection. Hiccup didn't believe it. Hiccup began clambering to his feet, all limbs and elbow as Toothless helpfully almost shoved him flat on the ground again in the name of getting Hiccup on his feet.

Re: Hiccup | How To Train Your Dragon | Iwa
"Need a hand up?" he asked politely as he stopped a bit away from them.
Re: Hiccup | How To Train Your Dragon | Iwa
"No...no, I'm okay. I can get up." Hiccup tried to do so, becoming an ungainly conglomeration of limb and elbows and he bobbed upwards.
And was knocked flat by Toothless, who surged forward to hiss menacingly at Abel, throwing a wing over Hiccup to hide him from sight. "No! Bad! Down!" Toothless responded to that by hunkering down over Hiccup's body, shoving an elbow into his gut.

The red-headed teenager couldn't help blinking at them, having gone to the gates with the intent of just taking a quick walk outside. That was... What kind of head band was on that guy? She couldn't tell from that distance, but she'd never seen anything like the lizard in Konoha before so he was more than likely a foreigner of some kind right? But from where?
Curiosity prevailed over caution as she approached, cupping her mouth around her hand to get his attention -- she was close enough to the gates to have back up if she was under attack, and even if she was on leave she still had a little weaponry on her, "Oiy, you! You okay over there?"
It'd be okay as long as she didn't present herself as a threat... Probably.
Tsunade Senju || Naruto || Konoha
"Perfect," Tsunade said to herself as she walked to the nearest bar, sat down at a table, ordered herself sake, and relaxed with her travel bag next to her.
What's the best way to avoid debt collectors who know that you never return home?
Return home.
tag all the Sannin
In his current mood, he very nearly missed the flash of gold hair disappearing into a bar. The glance was only out of hopeful habit, but he blinked to full alertness when he sensed chakra that was familiar to accompany the sight.
The bouncer wasn't particularly pleased to let him step in to search for his erstwhile shishou, but allowed Sasuke through the door once he'd identified Tsunade -- and her travel bag -- at a table.
"Shishou," he greeted, still looking dishevelled from his rude awakening and a little shocked to see her. "Did you only just get in?"
YESSSSSSS Considering I was told to make this account and post here by a friend. xD

Re: Tsunade Senju || Naruto || Konoha
... ... ...
That lady going into the bar looked kind of familiar. Somehow.
Adela blinked at the blond woman with exceptional assets entering the bar, and she stopped just outside to get a closer look. Yeah, she was probably staring and it was rude, but for some reason she just couldn't get that the lady being familiar was probably for a reason. What was it? Where had she seen a woman matching the description of this one before?
She couldn't get too close though, not with the bouncer glaring daggers at her. She might have been curios, but she wasn't about to start a fight just to get answers... At least, not over something like that.
Nuriko || Fushigi Yuugi || Land of Noodles
It was a heavy rainfall the night previous, and Nuriko made it a point to wake up extra early that morning to watch the sunrise. It was always a beautiful sight as the bright orange ball of light rose above the clouds dissipating in the sky.
Almost relaxing enough to almost fall back to sleep in the tree she was lounging in.
Yes, she. Nuriko learned from watching the crazy antics of Naruto and the Third Hokage's grandson the most wonderful of jutsu's ever created. He was almost as beautiful as Hotohori-sama using this Oiroke no Jutsu. Almost.
As her thoughts began to drift, she looked to the side of the mountain that stood as a border, and stood instantly.
...rocks falling...
...heading towards the village...
...great.
She broke the jutsu, conserving his chakra, and ran to where the rock slide was happening. If only there were ACTUAL shinobi in this village. The noodles are amazing, but the defense could really use a pick-me-up. Especially since this was going to be a pain doing this on his own. Completely possible, but not what he got up early to do.
no subject
Hotohori was awake early today because...there weren't really many days in which he could sleep in. On missions it seemed like he had longer to sleep than at home, when certain people always ended up waking him before the sun rose. He hadn't had time to stop and watch the sunrise today, unfortunately...too much paperwork.
He was one of the first to hear about the rock-slide headed toward the village, though, and over the protests of the counselors (it was a rock slide, not an invading army) raced out of the daimyo's palace (with a group of guards he picked up along the way) toward the rockslide as well. Whether it would be a matter of attempting to stop the slide or whether it would be an issue of rescuing villagers and preserving items and food, as daimyo (and one of the only shinobi officially affiliated with the country) it was his responsibility to be out there and help.
Can I still respond to this?! I'm responding to this.
WELL I GUESS YOU CAN THEN

Sabaku no Gaara | Naruto | Sunagakure
Unliving weapons were simple things. When not needed, they could be left on a shelf or sealed in a scroll, put away until they were needed again. They didn't need more than the occasional bit of maintenance to keep them in good repair.
Living weapons, not so much. When peace held strongest between the villages, what was there for a monster to do?
Gaara walked guard duty. He hadn't so much volunteered for it as he'd just started walking out in the desert around Suna as a way to waste time during the night, and eventually, the actual assigned guards started leaving that task to him. They didn't want to be close to him, and even if he was an unpredictable, murderous monster, he was also fiercely territorial over the desert. Outsiders expecting that the monster who cared little for Suna would let them pass by easily would receive rude surprises -- if a quick, messy death could be called a rude surprise.
It gave him a lot of time to think. Somehow, thinking was easier when he was walking, pacing restlessly in a large circle around the village, chakra preceding him and lingering behind him as he infused the sand with his passing. The stars in the desert burned with a fierce, cold brilliant, lighing the way as much as he could ever want, and the near-emptiness of the desert soothed his wary soul. Over the past few years, he had slowly begun to realize that perhaps there was something... more than what he had found in life. More than killing. There was little enough call for him these days, little need for the things he could do. Maybe... maybe it meant he needed to change.
But it was a difficult thing to wrap his head around. Why should he change? Why would it matter if he did or not? He would never be anything but a demon, never be anything but a killing machine. But...
He paused. Someone was approaching from Suna. Who would be looking for him?
[b – Konoha (pre-chuunin exams)]
Gaara, to no one’s surprise, tended to have a bad effect on diplomatic negotiations. So technically, even though he was Temari’s guard, he wasn’t allowed in the room while the people with social skills talked. A sandy eyeball watched the proceedings carefully from a discreet spot as they talked, and observant types would notice a startling amount of sand in the corners. He didn’t have to be in the room to protect her. Anything that happened, he could respond to by way of the sand. Not as fast as he could protect himself, maybe – but fast enough.
Protecting was odd. He wasn’t used to doing it for others – only himself. But it made him useful during peacetime, so he accepted the assignment the way he accepted most others. It was something to do. An outlet, potentially. Maybe someone would make trouble, and he could let out a little itchy frustration on them.
He was easy enough to find, sitting outside the building with his back against his ever-present gourd, fingers pressed over one closed eye as he watched over Temari, the other eye watching the people passing by.

There was a moment where Temari was stunned speechless before she shooed the nin away with a firm click of her door. A hasty wardrobe change into her usual kimono and slinging her fan across her back, she made her way out of the residence, through the empty streets, and to the mouth of the wall. She waits, teal eyes searching for a glimmer of her youngest brother coming back around. It takes some time, during which she has to wonder why she was the one woken at all. Clearly, he had found a way to occupy himself during the long hours of the night. That in itself wasn’t exactly a bad thing. And there was no one better to guard the village than him. He’d proven that he could be trusted to do that.
Finally, he comes into view just short of the horizon. Her sandals leaving prints in the sand as she adjusts her path to pull even with him a bit of a way passed the village entrance. She did not want to be up in the middle of the night pacing laps around the village but she would at least join her brother for a little while, at least to determine his reasoning if possible.
“Good evening Gaara.” She calls once she’s within earshot. He likely knew she was approaching awhile ago, but it was easy to forget that he had much farther reaching senses than the average Suna shinobi. Even knowing that he had a habit of infusing the sand with his chakra she still announced her presence all the same. She’s careful, not fearful not like when she was 15 and he was prone to murder with the slightest provocation. She’s built up a trust, even if only one-sided, since their father gave him escort duty when she went on high profile diplomatic missions. As such she said nothing further and held back from falling entirely into step. She wanted a sign of his mental state before pulling up entirely alongside him.
