Test Drive Post!
Sunshineverse | ||||
Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

Kashima Naoki | Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne | Kiri
At first he'd confined his training in the Silent Killing technique to more tame terrain, covering tile floor with thin layers of wet newspaper to ensure his steps were perfectly silent and even. A step that tore the paper even a little would be a step that would make noise on most surfaces. Once he'd mastered that, he took to more difficult areas, fallen leaves, puddles, areas covered in crackling frost. Slippery gravel and wispy leafy, noisy grass and other plants.
He wasn't at the point where he could track his targets by sound alone, so the heavy mist he used to blanket the training area when it wasn't naturally covered with it wasn't entirely impenetrable. It took concentration to keep his body from giving off light, move silently and quickly, and get into position to attack when he couldn't see his target. It would be time to leave for the chuunin exam in a few days, so he split his time between this and the last of the wind ninjutsu he hoped to use during the exam.
[2] Freshly Chuunin Naoki, courier missions to various villages
The first several missions since his promotions were about in line with what he'd done before becoming chuunin. The difference was, Naoki was now trusted to make the deliveries himself without a jounin to watch over him. Which meant multiple trips to other countries to deliver packages that were too large for birds and too important for other methods... but not so important as to be considered too much for a chuunin. Naoki didn't mind. It was nice to get out on his own.
So when the next village came into sight he picked up his pace a little. The sun was setting, and while he kept the light he gave off suppressed as a matter of course while traveling, he was looking forward to delivering the package nestled safely in his backpack. He'd had few enough opportunities to just look around on previous missions to other countries.
[3] Chuunin Naoki, in Konoha to watch their most recent chuunin exam
Since he could now comfortably keep himself from giving off light even in the midst of battle, he wore less concealing clothing than he had as a younger ninja. Something he was grateful for as he wandered Konoha in the days leading up to the final portion of the chuunin exam. Konoha was very cheerful, with civilians and shinobi alike eating and drinking. Naoki was no exception, browsing the stores and stalls as he snacked on some dango.
No training, no missions. Just relaxing and having fun and reading a few books and scrolls during quieter moments. Naoki thought the Konoha shinobi were odd ever since the chuunin exam he competed in, but they were friendly. Just weird. He gave a polite nod or wave to those he recognized.
[4] Choose your own adventure
How about a first meeting then.
"And why have they given me you?"

Let's make first meetings a theme!
His day-katana stayed, though, because Kisame didn't trust a nosy tail not to try to take advantage. Even if he was fairly sure he'd left his current "escort" behind, being cocky was as good as dead. And as frustrating tomorrow probably would be, ending up injured or dead before a trial mission with a genin he hadn't even been given the name of yet would be embarrassing.
So he dived in, letting the water wash away his thoughts as he pushed muscles and gills to their fullest. The blade created an interesting drag to compensate for, and Kisame worked out movements around it, executing tight turns and flips around rock and sliding through crevices that were almost too small for his bulk.
He was just about ready to come up for breath when he noticed light. Curious, and cautious, Kisame set off through the water to investigate.

So Naoto approaches. Not even her sandals make her actually taller, but she stands straight, almost tense from it, and intentionally speaks a little roughly. She's either honestly just that tough, or trying too hard.

Kanji Tatsumi | Persona 4 | Kumogakure
It's been a long and tiring day, but Kanji's in no hurry to admit to it. Not the most complex thing on the books, true: just another C-rank escort, protecting some merchant travellers on their way between villages around Lightning. He's probably the furthest from home that he's been, sure, but the details...
Just another day. Just the usual routine business.
While the convoy's stopped, he's taking a quick patrol of the area to check what sort of things are lurking. Taking the opportunity to get a bit of practice in, too, though he's not about to let his guard down; swinging a lightning-bolt bladed sword almost as big as he is without much seeming effort.
... Hang on. Did he just hear something?
2: Back home in Kumo
a)
Sometimes a real man just needs real food - sure, a real man doesn't complain at hardship either, but still... Especially after a long trip like that last one. Kanji's treating himself to something at the BBQ house - actually, a lot of somethings. Getting carried away there much, boy?
b)
Doing a little spot of shopping, today; while there's no force in the world that'll separate Kanji from Futsu-no-Mitama as far as he's concerned, he can't get by with the big blade alone. So, here we can see him stocking up on a few other bits and pieces. Hmm, those ropes and lines look damn useful, and with the new tricks he's been working on he's getting ideas... some of those, some of those...
3: Wildcard - pick your own!
no subject
The BBQ house really had amazing desserts, and they didn't even look at him oddly when that's all he ever ordered.
It was perfect. Seeing a rather determined looking Tatsumi at one of the tables, he made his way over, hopping up into the seat across from him and settling with his knees to his chest. "Kanji-kun."

The man glowered, and Nori turned a knife over end between his fingers and let his smile stretch across his lips with a few more teeth than strictly necessary. The caravan's stopped for a break, and it was a good time as any to sort out the kinks regarding his end of the deal.
"Now listen here, you pint-sized-"
Nori shushed him and sobered, sharp eyes picking up an approaching shadow. Thankfully his 'conversation partner' was more puzzled than angry and didn't take advantage of his distraction. Bit slow on the uptake, that one. Not that he'd manage to do much even if he had..
The shadow resolved itself into a tall blonde wearing Lightning's insignia, and Nori's sharp smile returned.
"Well if it ain't our esteemed escort." The knife slipped up his sleeve and he patted his fellow merchant on the back in a show of solidarity. "Just talkin' shop, but I'd say we're done now, eh?"

So Naoto adjusts her approach to take her close by the group and almost fumbles when swinging around a tree brings her very close to a foreign ninja that had been out of sight behind some brush. Stopping on a branch would make the unexpectedness too obvious, so Naoto covers her surprise and almost fumble by dropping to the ground. She doesn't draw her sword, but it's close. Kumo? So it's not as strange as it could be but Naoto does not like surprises.
She eyes the stranger warily, and tries to sound gruff, tough. "Name and purpose, please."

Uchiha Fugaku | Naruto | Konoha
Sometimes in order to get work done, one needed to hide. If there was a true emergency, Mikoto could no doubt find him in a hot second, she being the better half of his mind these days. She knew he was swamped with paper work, so if he was needed, she'd find him.
For his part, Fugaku had found a perfectly generic and tiny office space that looked recently vacated. Someone had moved out of it recently, but Fugaku doubted anyone would be able to find him here. Fugaku listened for a moment, heard no voices, and sighed as he settled down to sort through his papers, uninterrupted by anyone.
Outside Konoha
Fugaku didn't get outside or Konoha often. When he was outside of Konoha, the business was usually pressing business that required an escort. Today Fugaku had neither serious business or an escort. he was in a crowded marketplace, crouched down and examining kebari. It was fanciful to think he'd have time to fish anytime soon, but when one of the members of the force had mentioned this place, it seemed like a decent reason to escape Konoha for an afternoon.
Besides, there had been some recent promotions in the police department, and Fugaku wanted to see how the knew cats would manage their mice while he was away.
"Thank you, I'll take these. Your work is very good," Fugaku said as he handed the vendor some money and packed away his purchases. He stood up and immediately stepped back to catch himself as his stiff hip threatened his balance.

Ami had grown up in the Shopping District, filled to the brim with craftsmen—and, more to the point, craftsmen that had dedicated their lives to their respective arts so thoroughly that it wore out their bodies even as they stubbornly kept on practicing. They were all stubborn, so she and the other children of the District had learned early on how to aid or support the older men without noticeably doing so—or damaging their pride in the process.
Her fingers curled in one of his sleeves, moving back seamlessly with the slight near-stumble. It implied to any passersby that the motion was her fault, out of youthful eagerness, rather than some weakness on his. She peered up at him curiously, a flicker of worry followed by apology dancing through her large eyes. When she felt him catch himself she let go of his sleeve, adopting a repentant expression. "I'm sorry for my forwardness."

Outside Konoha! I'd say sorry but I'm taking delight in this |:
She paused in front of a fishing stand, wondering if she could use the money they'd given her to buy a good rod, and buy the food cheaply. She wasn't really good at fishing, but it might let her get food when she set out for Kirigakeru.
And then some idiot stamped on her foot.
Without thinking, she tried to sink her elbow into the offender's side. "Watch it!"

With the close, crowded nature of the market place there wasn't much room. Naoki took a half step back and to the side when the man took an unexpected step back, using what little room was available. He also brought his hands up to catch him in case he fell, but that turned out not to be necessary and there was only a slight press against his hands when the man caught himself.
"Excuse me."

L Lawliet | Death Note | Kumo
There were times when reports were simply not detailed enough for L's preferences. True, the shinobi that were in his division knew to put as much detail as they could into what they passed along to him, but even then, sometimes it was insufficient.
Which led to days like today, with him out in the field, hands in his pockets as he meandered under the trees to meet up with a contact, or to see the site of a situation for himself. It was a shame that he had issues wiring into the civilian broadcast channels when they weren't directly related to TV shows or movie systems, as it would make things go much more quickly.
an unfortunate price to pay for the use and utilization of chakra. He'd been slowly working on a workaround for some time now, but as it had yet to be perfected for any sort of distance use, he would simply have to continue doing things the long way. With his own eyes.
Still, sometimes he didn't mind being out, and his particular brand of jutsu, while not as good for seeing with the eyes, still let him keep close track of his surroundings at all times. It was an easy enough price to pay to wear white under the shade of trees, to be able to keep such close track of everything while staying casual in every way that really mattered.
It also meant he wasn't surprised at all when another person came upon him near the path, different travel tangent or not. Instead, he just turned his head, watching them curiously to see how closely his readings matched the figure at hand.

The latter was apparently very much on Nanako's side today.
Yagura rarely let her out into the field these days, save for very important missions or her mandatory vacation days. The odds of crossing paths with this man, however, were astronomical. He was as much of a shut-in as she was, these days, if the reports they had scraped together were any indication. Still, she while she wasn't interesting in a fight—she had guards to spar with—that didn't mean she wouldn't pounce on the opportunity.
She stopped walking, smoothing down the casual, civilian-style dress she liked to wear on her days off. "My, my." She beamed at him. "It's certainly been quite some time since I've seen that face in the daylight."

Houou Maniwa | Katanagatari | Maniwa Clan/Uzushiogakure??/TBD
Splitting the clan had been advantageous in the beginning, but Houou still missed the branches of his family; longing strangely for the years on the road and the closeness of his council. But time marched on and their numbers swelled and it had been time to look to the future of their young ones and the generations that would lead them forward, once he finally tired of the life his bloodline provided.
Settling in one place was still an act of great restraint that Houou did not quite yet possess, but visiting he could do; checking in with each Maniwa outpost and assuring himself of the health and safety of each precious member with his own eyes and affording him a comfort that letters simply couldn't offer.
Fire country was a cool joy to travel in the spring time and he walked the paths with an easy gate that belayed none of the skill he possessed as a long lived and exceptionally train shinobi. Houou was simply a brightly coloured and obnoxiously regal looking tumbler, a performer of tricks and reciter of tales and nothing more to the casual observer. Only his fellow Maniwa would understand the markings; slashes of red across his eyes and nose that distinguished him among them, despite the years and changes that he might have to enact in the mean time.
Time marched on and so did he, soon to see his strays again, if only the day stayed clear and the road to Uzushio smooth.
no subject
At the moment, that direction was a small town in the northwest corner of the country, where wind of a unique job had reached him. A day and a half's travel at a leisurely pace. For all his wanderings, he rarely expected to happen across acquaintances unless he had reason to seek them out or vice-versa, and wasn't particularly fond of the latter.
He didn't really believe in coincidence, but the sight of that obnoxious form wasn't an unwelcome one. Nori greeted him with his trademark sharp smile.
"Lookin' like ya might be lost there." If only because Houou was alone, and maybe it wasn't a coincidence.

Utakata | Naruto | Formerly Kiri - missing nin
Days could be boring...but he liked to think of those days as 'relaxing' instead. Such as today: he had no one actively chasing him, and he had the funds to feed himself when he needed to. The rest of the day he could easily spend napping. Often he would sleep somewhere stationary because it was simply safer, but today he slept in a slowly drifting bubble, maximizing his time by traveling toward the village he planned to purchase goods from while also resting.
Sure, someone might see him floating in the bubble above the road...but how many people would do anything about a strange robed man floating away in a bubble? They'd probably walk quickly by and convince themselves they weren't seeing strange things.
And if some nosy person decided to wake him up instead...that would be almost entirely their problem, wouldn't it?
no subject
Hmm, wasn't there a village in that direction? She didn't want to openly challenge the man in the bubble, but she did want to know more. What if he was a threat? It was important to at least get some information on the man, if she could, and it wouldn't delay her to take a detour to the village and see if her calculations were right.
So Naoto did just that, and perched in a tall tree outside the village, to watch in the correct direction and see if the man in the bubble came her way. She would learn something, at least, and that was pleasing.

Shirogane Naoto | Persona 4 | Uzushio
There are plenty of things to do today. Training, research, and with good fortune, an interesting mission or two. Naoto is not about to waste a moment of time, crossing out her mental to do list one by one and moving briskly between each.
One might catch her training, working on honing her swordwork, and increasing the precision of her Wind Release. Naoto doesn't stop her exercises until the wind-chakra extended blade swiftly cuts through a round target in exactly even sections, and works on increasing the speed, and the number of sections she can get out of it.
Or perhaps, neck deep in scrolls, researching seals and elemental manipulation of chakra, taking notes as she goes. But don't comment on the mystery novel; it might get a glare. Shhh, it's a secret hobby. Really.
2) Outside Uzushio
Courier missions are nothing exciting, but they are a chance to travel and see things. So while Naoto is on the road she keeps her eyes and ears open to whatever might be interesting. Other shinobi, civilians... It doesn't matter. Anything could turn up important later, and tiny details could mean the difference between life and death, literally.
So she moves briskly, but perhaps not on the most efficient route to her destination, and on the way home, takes time to explore. But only a little, because she doesn't to be late getting home.
And anything that might be a little out of place, such as a shinobi not native to the country that she's traveling through, might even get more than a few subtle glances. When she speaks, it's a little boyish, and brusquely, to match her boyish clothing.
"Might I inquire as to the nature of your business? Only as it might impact the outcome of my mission, of course."
She's really not quite as good at hiding her rampant curiosity as she pretends to be.
1!
That was when she managed to find some time alone in one of the buildings, a gentle sigh leaving her as she looked at all the books around. A library, but she sincerely doubted she'd find anything classified in there. Probably historical scrolls, or maybe the odd fictional book or two. What she wasn't expecting to see was another shinobi in there, however.
And what a pile he(?) was looking through! The red head whistled low as she approached, glancing to the pile around her with clear intrigue. When she was finally close enough, Naoto would be met with a comment from her that was more impressed than anything else, "You're doing a lot of reading here today. Studying up or just for fun?"

Yuffie Kisaragi| Final Fantasy 7 | Kirigakure
Yuffie spent a lot of time away from her home. She liked to explore, which meant get into trouble. This time however it didn't seem all that bad. She had heard stories of a treasure that was hidden nearby and she went looking for it. It was suppose to be located in some secret cave but she couldn't find any other useful hints.
Her boot scrapped against the ground as she turned to leave feeling rather foolish for even trying to find such a place. Usually she has more to go on before she runs off but she had a feeling that it might have been a good lead.
[2] Ambush
A lot of people would tell her that this was a dangerous way to practice but Yuffie preferred the challenge. She had a few traps set up along the path and then she waited. It was one of the few times the boisterous ninja was quiet. She steadied her breathing and listened to the sounds around her moving only after hearing someone approach.
Her blades flicked from her wrist at her target as she leaps back out of sight.
[2] Choose your own..

The blades hit, but a moment later the water clone collapsed into a puddle on the ground, as Kisame switched himself to another position.
Now, if he'd judged that right, the ninja in question would be right about... here.
Grin on his face, Kisame rounded a tree trunk, steps as silent as an assassin. Would his attacker be able to anticipate that counter?

Tifa Lockhart | Final Fantasy 7 | Kumogakure | I am a dirty tease...
Granted, they were all supposed to be allies, or at least on friendly enough terms to feign it while they were allowed access to each other's villages. Still, there was no helping the level of suspicion that came with shinobi life. Tifa, at the very least, wanted to believe in the best of people. But even she had been subject to unexpected betrayal, and the idea of it happening again always had her on edge.
And so, there had never been much protest when the Raikage would assign her to play escort and guide whenever foreign shinobi came to visit. Tifa had the kind and courteous disposition that could put anyone at ease, even during the most tense of situations. But it was always for that same reason that enemies would often underestimate her skills, or how far the kunoichi would go to protect the village she loved.
"So," she chirped cheerfully, glancing back at her charge, "What brings you to Cloud?"
2. Woman with the Iron Fist
It was almost too quiet. And that had been her first sign that she was being followed.
She had walked this trail on a number of occasions. It was one of her favorites. Compared to the high mountains of Lightning, and the harsh climate that came with it, she found herself welcoming the fresh smell of grass and trees. And the bursts of color from the wildflowers that would grow along the road. But most importantly, Tifa enjoyed the teeming amount of life she would see along the way.
Rabbits scampering across her path, deer peeking out from the glade, and the sweet chirp of birdsongs well into the summer night. They were all things that she accounted to the experience of taking this road through the south. And she had seen and heard none of it in the last half-hour at least.
But while Tifa had always been the reactionary sort of shinobi, the waiting and uncertainty of what would happen nest was starting to be too much.
"You can come out," the kunoichi called, stopping in her tracks, "I know you're there."

[The symbol that appears on the Seal Scrolls is from a shinobi missing and presumed dead for years. Feel free to assume it is a symbol your character knows. The handwriting on it, however, is so painstakingly neat that it almost looks mechanically reproduced, but that’s not possible, right?]
I understand that this scroll allows for swift communication over distances. We require information.

Option B: In person/First contact at Summoning Island (Argilla will be tagging in as well)
The missive could have gone more smoothly, but they have acquired at least a part of the necessary information they required and other shinobi were able to provide a possible triangulation for their current location. If it was correct, a delegation to meet in person was expected to arrive shortly. It was decided that Serph and Sera would remain hidden, for reasons of security, and Heat would only cause unnecessary friction. The hunger beat at them all, but at least Gale wasn’t going to willingly succumb to it and start a fight just for the sake of fighting and eating.
Of the remaining members of their tribe, Gale and Argilla were deemed the best candidates to make a positive first impression, so they were standing by the ocean now, waiting. Gale turned to Argilla, confirming visually that she was also ready.
Gale wanted to be in a less outwardly relaxed pose, but it was important not to give the impression of hostility, so he repressed the urge. This waiting was… uncomfortable.
“If these shinobi don’t arrive soon…” He didn’t feel the need to elaborate. The hunger would become insistent soon for both of them. A solution would need to be implemented to make certain their control would not be strained.
Option C: In person/Attempted diplomatic visits
Learning about the world outside the Ruins was vital, so when an invitation for an envoy to visit their new potential allies came, there was no point in even considering a decline. The primary issue involved was that the request was for a single envoy, and not an invitation for the tribe. It made sense, militarily, but it was not comfortable. For this visit, it was decided that if only one could go, Gale would be the best choice for gathering information.
After receiving encouragements and admonishments, Gale had left his for his current destination and…
There were so many people, much more than Gale had ever witnessed in one place. All of them were warm and alive, and Vayu inside was raging against his control because they looked delicious. His Atma pulsed once, flaring bright green and sending glowing lines of it spiderwebbing around his calf, before he could contain it, and Gale paused for a moment to gain a better rein on his hunger. Failure here would endanger all of them.
In control again, he moved forward, pulling out the paperwork he had been given for this purpose and presented it to the shinobi at the gate.
There would be an escort, he’d been told, and Gale appraised the nearby candidates for the most likely and addressed the person.
“I am Gale of the Embryon.”
Option B
She's more concerned with how these shinobi will take to them, and how she is going to manage against people so foreign to everything she's ever known. She was friendly certainly, but prior to this there was a common knowledge base to for her to build off even in the heat of remembering things they'd never seen before that was a constant. And now...
"I'm worried." It's such a simple word, but it conveys so well the strange flutter in her stomach. It wasn't like when she was hungry, it was different it almost made her not want to eat at all. And with it comes a need to move that she is doing her very best to ignore, aware that it could look poorly on them when these shinobi finally do arrive.

Obi-Wan Kenobi | Star Wars | ???? (from old Uzushio)
He seems quiet and unassuming, with an enigmatic smile offered to any of those who look too closely. Kenobi knows he's been away from civilization for far too long, but it doesn't stop him from being overly polite, taking great pains to not hide his age or his quietude. He is simply a traveller passing through, awed at all the
newfangledfeats of various ninja hopping about cities, eyes observing carefully, but not too closely, and just as likely to spend his time staring and inspecting a ripe piece of fruit as he is when looking at a particularly well-balanced blade at a weapon's stall. Some of it is trying to absorb everything. Trying to catch up with the world that has moved on ahead and dwell in those simple pleasures of life. And some of it is living up to that reputation of a very polite, if crazy, old man.
2 - Openly in Meditation
A sight one might stumble upon in any country, though the farther you get from the Land of Lightning the less likely you are to find him. It's almost odd, how he sits peacefully in the midst of whatever terrain, eyes closed and seemingly at full rest. Those who are very clever (or very paranoid) will note how while he strays into other countries, he is very careful to remain forever outside what might be considered a ninja village's outer limits, coasting easily just along the border of 'reasonably neutral territory'.
He is very still, remaining unperturbed by petty natural disturbances, and the wildlife of an area seem very content to leave well enough alone. But whatever he's doing, the feeling of chakra at work can be hard to ignore if one is sufficiently adept at reading it. He is a man perfectly in sync with his natural surroundings, the energy around him flowing through and in, absorbed and recombined and released in sync with his very regular breathing—a man at peace.
Even so, a sword rests not far from where his hands are loosely resting over his folded ankles.

Then he feels something that nearly makes him drop out of the sky. When he recovers he lands quickly, and edges closer and closer to the feeling until he sees an older looking man just sitting serenely on a small rise. Juugo stops behind some jagged rocks and peeks out shyly, watching with a lost expression.
Why do you feel like me, he wants to ask, but this is a stranger, and very close to Rain. What if it's an enemy? But what if his instinct is correct and it's someone like him, maybe even with his curse?

Ayuru Gi/"Nakago" - Fushigi Yuugi - Sunagakure native, now Iwa
He was little more than a name and a figure used to intimidate, so long as Iwa chose to keep to the current peace...but then, how many ninja truly believed that the peace would last much longer than it had, anyway?
To him, there never really had been any peace to begin with. When war wasn't declared, that simply meant his assignments changed from leading divisions of ninja into neighboring lands to walking quietly into another land and making enemies disappear without the glory and recognition that came along with military victories and open conquest.
Those sorts of things never really mattered to him at all, though, and so he went where he was told, killed what he was directed to, and carried the unspoken message of Iwa's might to every village he entered under the banner of peace.
Such as this one.
He had a dual purpose today. To eliminate someone whom the Tsuchikage had taken a disliking to, and while doing so to flatter the lord of the land into opening up a better trade route with Iwagakure.
What he did besides that while in the nation was up to him, however.
Thus, while he waited for the right time to deal with his target, he lounged in an outdoor seat of a teashop. He sipped at the local blend of tea and watched the villagers with a cool blue gaze, watching for any figure that might hold some interest to Iwa.
I tried to resist but Nakago
The blond man didn't escape her good eye however, and although both were focused on him briefly it was more than obvious that only one could truly see him. The way he seated himself was something to think about, and she couldn't help wondering if he was likely undercover as she was. Still, there was no point in starting a fight and she didn't particularly want to anyway. The courier mission was important, and she didn't need to go jeopardizing it by picking fights with strangers.
Even if his eyes did unnerve her...

Ameyuri Ringo | Naruto | Kirigakure
Her body is failing. She can feel it in the slight drag in her muscles, in her breath that comes shorter and shorter and forces her laugh higher into gasps and blood. But it's not enough to go to Yuki, not yet, because she doesn't care what they might say and how many almost-orders the Mizukage might hiss, she doesn't trust that clan and their abilities; she doesn't trust how they'll slip away from a fight or mislead, and she's shattered no small number of frozen mirrors in disgust as their missing-nin fled. Now they offer her a chance for longer life. Let them freeze you, she's told. You might survive long enough for a cure to be found. Or stolen. Or manufactured by any of the insane clans in Water. You might not, but you're dying anyway. Who cares?
She does, and that's why she's stubbornly sticking to the training area and its inner courtyard where the apprentices like to roam, because they're not brave enough to rat her out to her medics and she's almost got this technique. One more pass at the training dummies-- she spins, and almost loses her balance, and shreds the wood with a perfect blast of lightning on the backhand instead. Whatever. Another pass will do it.
[2] AGS 2 - thawed out
She can't talk properly. Whatever they did to her throat during the process has left it raw and gummed over all at once, but she's enjoying herself anyway. For the first time since her hospitalisation, she's out in Kiri. With a minder, sure, but that's not new.
Doesn't have a wallet, though. Huh. She'll have to ask about back-pay. How much do ornaments get paid?
"Oi," she turns to look up - automatically, because who the fuck sticks around in Kiri if they're her height - and grins. She's croaking, but more importantly, "Want to buy me lunch?"

The question catches him off guard, but he smiles and nods. "Sure. Do you like squid?" He knows a place nearby that's quickly becoming popular.
